What a retreat actually looks like

A retreat intensive is not a holiday. It is structured therapeutic work — but held within a residential setting that gives you time to breathe, to sit with what comes up, and to return to each other between sessions.

"The most meaningful relational work happens when couples are removed from the noise of ordinary life — and given real time and space to be present with each other."

Retreat intensives are held over multiple days in the Mornington Peninsula. Fees are structured around your specific needs and the length of the retreat. All enquiries are handled personally and in confidence.

Tumee Hugginson

I am a Gottman-trained couples therapist with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and over a decade of clinical experience working with couples across Japan, Australia, and internationally.

My approach integrates Gottman Method Couples Therapy with depth psychology, EFT, and attachment theory — alongside a careful attention to the unconscious dynamics that shape relational life. Retreat intensives allow me to work with couples at a depth that weekly sessions rarely permit.

Therapy Atelier was created for couples who take their relationship seriously — and want a space that matches that seriousness.

"A retreat intensive is one of the most meaningful things a couple can do — not because it is dramatic, but because it is sustained, private, and real."
